With so much of tiredness and stressful planning, you have to look great on big day of your life. Here are few tips for you to survive on wedding day.

  1. Get enough sleep: Particularly on the day before your wedding, ensure that you get good night sleep. This can help you to look fresh and you can restore enough energy for your wedding day.

Everyone wants the honeymoon period to last forever and ever, but why is it that so few of us are actually so lucky? One friend of mine says that the minute she got married, it was like her boyfriend, now husband, felt like he did not have to impress her any more, because they were married now anyway, so there was no need to impress.

Another friend says that she wishes she had stayed unmarried, at least that way her boyfriend would pay attention to her! What went wrong for both these new brides? Why are they saying what they are?

Don’t worry, almost every new bride makes mistakes, and here are some of them, with tips on how to avoid making them. Perhaps this way, your honeymoon period will last for a little while longer!

How To Entertain Your Wedding Guests?

Monday 15 December 2008

While in some cultures a wedding is a serious affair, and a time to bring out long lost traditions to the fore, some other weddings are fun filled, where guests gather to talk, laugh, eat, drink and make merry.

Remember, all your guests must go back home with fond memories, and you can help to bring this about. Here are some tips for you to entertain your wedding guests:

  • You can of course set up a dance floor, but remember, not all your guests would like to dance away the whole night at your wedding reception. You could think of providing a quiet space for those guests who would like to catch up on family gossip and events, with lots of good food and drink close at hand. Anyone who wants to use the space can be allowed to do so, away from the loud music and dancing.
  • You could think of creating a billiards room, or a snooker table. You could encourage your guests to pay at poker, or at chess, or other such activities. This will keep them entertained for hours, while your other guests can have their own fun dancing and generally making merry.

Involving Children At Wedding Ceremonies

Thursday 4 December 2008

As most of us have experienced, children are the life and soul of a wedding ceremony and it is seldom the same without them as they are both an essential part of the life cycle.

Getting children involved in a wedding can completely change it.

If they are actively taking part, they’ll look adorably cute and enhance the whole look of your special day. Here are a few ways to include them in your wedding ceremony:

Flower girls: Besides adding an essential element to your wedding, a flower girl has a role which is much coveted by any young girl as she walks up the aisle carrying a basket of petals, which she scatters along your walkway.

Ring bearer: The role of the ring bearer traditionally falls to a cute young boy, who walks through the aisle before the flower girl holding the bridal couple’s wedding rings tied to a beautiful pillow.

Junior groomsmen or bridesmaids: The perfect role for young boys, the junior bridesmaid or groomsman walks up the aisle along with you and your partner.

How To Choose Officiant For Your Wedding?

Monday 24 November 2008

An officiant plays a major role in a wedding, and you will probably be extremely lucky if you are able to find an officiant who would be open to all your ideas for the wedding, and is flexible and open to your suggestions, and who does not oppose everything immediately he hears you.

After all, it is your wedding, a once in a lifetime affair, and if you get an uncooperative officiant, then it will be a great dampener on the festive wedding spirit.

If you prefer the traditional officiant, then remember, you have several options. The officiant who conducts your marriage could be a Judge, or a Notary, a Clerk at the County Courthouse, or he could be a Justice of the Peace.

I once attended a wedding when the bride’s father’s close friend acted as the officiant for the wedding. This was a wedding I cannot forget, because the proceedings were so very informal, and there was absolutely no tension on any side, because everyone knew the officiant, and the officiant knew everyone at the wedding, and he knew exactly what was what.

6 Tips To Become A Healthy Bride

Thursday 20 November 2008

I know you want to look your very best on the most important day of your life, your wedding day! Have you taken any steps, however, to achieve this? If you have, congratulations! If not, then what are you waiting for?

Remember, a good looking bride is most probably a healthy one as well, and only good health can bring that extra special glow to your face and skin on your wedding day.

Here are some tips for you to become healthy or healthier as the case may be, as your wedding day approaches.

  1. Exercise moderately everyday. Do not wait until the last minute, start at least six months before your wedding day. Perform exercises that will tone up your body and get rid of the excess fat on your body. Try Pilates, its excellent!
  2. You could practice some of these things: never lie down when you can sit up while watching TV, never sit down when you can stand up when you are talking to your neighbor, never stand up when you can walk around while you are talking on the telephone, never walk, but run if you can up the stairs. These simple steps will help you shed excess weight, and shape you up for your wedding day.

How To Overcome Wedding Blues With Massage?

Thursday 13 November 2008

It is imperative that you look good, no, great, on your wedding day.

I know you must be anxious and stressed about the wedding, with so many details to take care of, and coping with the miscellaneous irritating and stress causing situations that arise just before a wedding.

One of the most important things that you can do to achieve a union of mind, body and spirit so that you can look gorgeous on your wedding day, is to de-stress with a massage.

Remember, a good massage given by a trained professional masseur will help you get relief from stress, will help you to relax, will promote deep and easy breathing, will reduce an elevated blood pressure caused by anxiety, will increase your general health and well being, will bring a glow to your skin, and even release endorphins, the body’s natural painkiller.

Start months earlier; don’t wait until the last minute to have that massage. Remember, it is only if you have had several massages already that you will be able to derive the benefits I have mentioned above.
